With the military banning myspace etc?
Will they still be able to access it? are they able to take their own computers/laptops to players like Australia and Okinawa? my cousin was extended 5 months in Japan until february ‘08 and he regularly uses myspace to keep in touch. I know they can’t take them to Iraq and Afghanistan but are they allowed to other deployments that are not war zones? thanks for any help

The point of keeping military members ‘off’ MySpace an the like isn’t to punish the members or their friends and family. In fact, they can still use the sites, they just have to be careful about the type of information they post.
The military is finding the classified information is making its way onto the net and into enemy hands via this sites. The members don’t mean to air the info, it just happens. So, the way to stop it is to say don’t use the sites or have what you post screened.
Makes sense when you think about it. Would you rather have your cousin safe or on MySpace?
