i don’t really understand much of this, but basically i can tell i don’t have enough GHz, and is there any way of getting more without buying a new laptop?

Have an HP Pavilion ze2000 laptop purchased around ‘05 during walmart blitz for 0. It’s VERY SLOW and out of date:

37.2GB hard drive capacity with 20.3GB free.

I do photography on the side and use photoshop alot. I’m also online daiIy so need a faster computer. I can’t use both photoshop and internet or one will lock up. It takes forever just to edit one photo since my computer is so slow. Yes I’ve kept up maintenance and removed unused programs. Just Needing to know what to look for. Sofar I’ve been looking at a dell that has 4 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive.Want a new laptop that will LAST me as long as possible but be fast enough to multitask. Screen size and weight doesnt really matter, but would like battery to last atleast an hour, CD/DVD reader and burner (you know atleast the basic extras). Don’t mind to spend IF it will last me longer than this one without being overpriced for it’s features.

I have read many forums in which users have problems like in dell studio line the optical drive hangs up, touch pad doesn’t respond, motherboard & Backlight not working etc.
Also in Sony Vaio hard disk problem, keypad doesn’t work, wifi etc.

Hi there everyone. I just have a quick question…I’m looking to buy a Toshiba Notebook Computer seeing they are pretty reasonable and I’ve heard great reviews on them from friends and on some sites as well. I’m currently a sophomore in college and I plan on transferring to a 4 year university pretty soon. I just need a laptop that will allow me to surf the web, download music at a fairy high speed, type essays and listen to music as well as instant message and all that good stuff that comes with being a college student :p I want to be able to do all these possibly at the same time without having my computer lagging because I’m the most impatient person out there. The laptop should be reasonable as well when it comes to price.
I’m getting confused with all of the different processors..I have no idea what the differences are. If you could please let me know what you feel would work with my current situation I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :D
oh and one more thing, a laptop with a lot of memory space would be great seeing i have a ton of digital camera pictures and i love saving all of them…even the ugly looking ones ;)

I would like to purchase a laptop, I was told that toshiba makes a durable laptop. A friend is in the army and says alot of the guys take a toshiba laptop to afganistan with them. This is the type of use it would have if I buy one. Any info on good, durable laptaops under say 00 would be great. Thanks
I need to use my TOSHIBA Satellite A40 laptop for extensive academic and other works (like movie, music, internet). I use it like desktop – always from line power, no mobility and it is turned on almost 12 hrs everyday. Is that OK? I am worried if I am over-using it– keeping it on long hours and doing so many things. Is it true that unlike desktop which is more rugged I should use my laptop more ’softly’, more carefully,…. Should I use less hours per day? Do you have any tips or adivice for me who needs to use computers about 8-10 hours a day.

I just got a new computer that is a toshiba laptop with Windows Millenium Edition and a pentium III processor. I need to do programs such as defrag and cleanup, but I don't know the proper order.
I have a Toshiba A65-s126 that I've torn apart to change out the Bios/ Cmos? RTC backup batteries; but now can't find any to change. I'm wondering if the bios takes power right from the large main power battery.
Toshiba doesn't have manuals or info they will release to the public.
