		<description>Given Columbine and all the other tragic school violence that&#039;s happened in &quot;good&quot; schools over the past decade or so, I&#039;m somewhat surprised by the pricipal&#039;s reaction.  Many schools have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this sort of thing.

A school board meeting would be a good place to go, though I understand why you think they&#039;ll just side with the principal.  How about the local newspaper?  There might be a chance a journalist would want to do a story, though I don&#039;t know if you want to subject your daughter to the press coverage.

I am not familiar with the military, but I would put more trust in them than many public schools.</description>
