Save all your disc information. Make sure you have all your drives for XP. Put in the XP disc. Delete all the packets of information. (You’ll have like three places to delete. It’ll ask you to make a new definition file, but delete all of them.) Then press enter for the first slot for the information. Follow the rest of the Wizard. Install the drivers you need to. That’s it!
Bloodscythe T….You confused me…and I reformat alot testing out linux….
Anyways, on with the Question.
As said, save anything you want to keep. You will be erasing everything to put in XP. Your Computer should have a Disc labled that it contains system drivers. Find it first.
shutdown or reboot your PC with the XP Disc in the Disc Drive.
It will probably say somthing similar to…
Press any key to boot from CD or DVD
do that.
It will do its own thing for a few moments depending on your system then It will bring you into a menu asking you what you want to do
Select where it says to Install the Operating System
It will show you that there is already an operating system on the drive and will have an option to delete by pressing a key on the keyboard. I believe it is D
Then it will ask you to confirm again by pressing L
There may be one more thing…but then it will show you the EULA and you press F8 to go on
It will give you an option to Format NTFS and Format NTFS Quick. Unless you just want to wait, quick works fine.
From there it will pretty much do its own thing. It will copy the files, then reboot, once maybe 2 times. Then it will bring up the rest of the install. It will probably ask you to put in your time zone, and stuff like that. Then it will give you the opportunity to create users and set up your connection and security.
From there it will take you to your desktop You should have a driver CD that came with your PC
change bios settings first
on startup type f2 f8 or tab or del key normalu in asus it is del
go to boot priority
and set boot devise first as cd rom.
Then insert xp cd and restart windows xp boots
press any key to boot from cd
windows take some time to load drivers then press f8 to accept lasence agreement
then windows find previous os press esc to do not do anything
then u have to delete or format partition to delete partition press then press d then l
to create apartition press c and 10000 mb partition for xp and inter to formate partition as ntfs.your installation begins after reboot.
