Battery gauge reset made my laptop’s battery die?
I have a Lenovo/IBM T60 laptop. My battery life has been diminishing lately (around 2 hours when I used to get 4), so I left-clicked on my battery gauge, brought up the power manager, went to battery maintenance, and did a power gauge reset. This is supposed to fully charge, then fully discharge, then fully recharge my battery. I started this about nine hours ago. Now my battery is sitting at 1%, refusing to charge, and I have a message that says "irreparable damage to the battery has been detected. Replace the battery with a new one." I’m a college student, and I NEED my computer to run off of battery so I can bring it to class, etc.
Is there any way I can revive this one, or do I just have to buy a new one? And what made it do that, anyway???

I think you will need to buy a new battery, the battery may have been dying anyway, so discharging it fully just ended it’s life.
take out your battery from the laptop and keep it outside for a day!!! then plugin back and try it!! impossible it kill it self suddenly!!! remember dont over charge your battery, it will make your battery weak very quickly!!
Buy a new one.
Don’t buy a Lenovo/IBM.
Defective Battery.
I would buy a Compaq Presario F555US Laptop
It will cost you $698.00
The same thing happened to me.. and i feel for you. I called hp and asked what i should do. They wanted me to buy a new battery. It cost like 80 bucks to buy it directly from them. So i went for a second opinion at a local computer store. He said i had to replace it, but he could get a battery for about 50 bucks. Short story shorter,
I got it from him, and i spend 52.64 for it instead of 80 + s/h.
So look around for the battery and perhaps you could get a good deal on it.
Hope it helps.
